Overview:
Ledgent Finance & Accounting is partnering with a well-established construction firm seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join their accounting team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity ideal for candidates who thrive in fast-paced, project-based environments and are ready to contribute from day one.
Responsibilities:
Process a high volume of AP invoices (up to 100/day) in an accurate and timely manner
Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and vendor invoices in accounting systems
Enter and manage data within BusTrack and integrate with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP)
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly
Assist with weekly check runs and prepare payment batches
Maintain credit card transactions and reconcile monthly statements
Communicate with vendors regarding invoice/payment status
Support month-end close procedures and AP reporting
Qualifications:
3+ years of full-cycle accounts payable experience, preferably in a construction or project-based setting
Proficiency in accounting software such as Great Plains (GP), QuickBooks, or similar systems
Experience with BusTrack or similar AP import tools is a plus
Strong Excel skills and familiarity with document management tools (e.g., OneDrive, shared drives)
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
Team player with a proactive attitude and strong communication skills
